How Do Refunds for Pledges Work on Crowdfunder?

When dealing with pledge refunds on Crowdfunder, there are several factors to consider based on the source and payment method. Below, you’ll find a detailed overview of refund processes and steps you can take to resolve any refund-related issues.

Overview of Refund Processes

Refunds initiated on Crowdfunder typically follow these timelines and conditions:

  • Refund processing may take 5 to 10 business days to reach your account, depending on your bank’s handling times.

Determining Refund Eligibility

Not all refunds are processed directly through Crowdfunder:

  • Donations made directly to Crowdfunder: Crowdfunder processes these refunds, including cases where campaigns are unsuccessful. However, if your pledge has been paid out to the project owner, you will need to liaise a refund with them.

  • Pledges made directly to project owners: In these cases, Crowdfunder does not manage the refund process. You must contact the project owner directly for assistance. For more information, refer to the refund process article.

Steps to Resolve Missing Refunds

If you haven’t received your refund within the expected timeframe, consider taking the following steps:

  1. Contact relevant parties: - For Crowdfunder-managed refunds, contact Crowdfunder support with your payment details. - For project owner-managed refunds, reach out directly to the project owner using their provided contact details.

  • If a project owner does not respond to your refund request, contact Crowdfunder's support team who can act on your behalf. Crowdfunder will reach out to the project owner to request a refund and provide updates on any progress, enabling you to continue following up directly with the project owner via email if needed.

  1. Contact your bank: If refunds are delayed beyond 10 business days, request your bank to investigate further. Banks sometimes hold incoming payments due to security precautions.

  • When tracing delayed refunds through your bank, provide the Acquirer Reference Number (ARN) associated with the transaction. This unique identifier assists banks in locating and confirming the status of the refund.
