There are a number of factors that affect your project's ability to close early, including the following:
What state is the project in?
Is there any money pledged on the project?
How much money is pledged on the project?
To understand what functionality is available to you, please read through the options below to find out if and how you can close your project:
1. My project is live but no money has been raised
You can take the project offline in the 'Manage' section of your project dashboard by clicking the 'Take offline' button. This will put your project back in draft, so you can keep working on it and go live again at a later date.
2. My project is live and has already received pledges
If your live project has already received pledges, there may be other options available in the 'Manage' section of your dashboard, depending on the status of your project and how much you have raised so far.
Read through the options below:
Close unsuccessfully and refund your supporters.
You can close and refund your supporters at any time.
Your project will then be marked as unsuccessful, your pledges will be refunded to your supporters, and you will not be able to continue receiving pledges.
Request an early payout. You can request that your funds raised so far be paid out early, and any future pledges will be transferred to you on a rolling basis until your project closes. To request this option your project must meet the following criteria:
The page has been live for at least 7 days.
Your funding type is set as Flexible Funding.
If you do not see this option in your dashboard, please reach out to our support team.
Request an early close. You can request that your project closes as soon as possible, rather than waiting for your original closing date. Your money will then be paid out within the next 7 working days. To request this option your project must meet the following criteria:
The page has been live for at least 7 days.
If your funding type is All or Nothing, you will need to have reached 100% of your funding target.
Note: You can switch your project to Always on either before or after closing early, so you can continue to accept donations. Please see our guide which explains the Always on functionality.
3. My project is already Always on, or is a Charity Fundraiser.
Go to the 'Manage' section of your project dashboard and click on 'Close project'. Once you have done this, your project will close and be marked as successful, meaning you will no longer be able to receive donations.
