Movement Fund: FAQs

1) Email your Acceptance Form, BACS Form, a recent bank statement and any additional information requested in the Award Agreement to [email protected].

2) Set up your campaign page on Crowdfunder.

3) Go to the Match Funding section of your dashboard and apply for the Sport

England Movement Fund. Select that you have a conditional award, enter your

URN and submit.

4) Read How to crowdfund for your sports club or organisation.

5) Join one of the monthly webinars or watch a replay of a previous webinar.

6) When your draft campaign page is ready, email [email protected], including your unique reference number (URN) and campaign name.

7) The Movement Fund will suggest any improvements or simply agree that you’re ready to go.

8) Begin crowdfunding!

Please note that the Sport England pledge is valid for 12 weeks from the date of the Award Agreement. Ensure your campaign launches within this period to retain the pledge, as failing to do so will result in its cancellation.

Your campaign target is made up of your crowdfunding pledge + the money you will raise.

For example, if the crowdfunding pledge is for £5,000, then you need to raise another £5,000 from your supporters. You would set your campaign target to be at least £10,000.

You will only get the funding from Sport England if you reach your campaign target.

You can set a stretch target when you draft your campaign. You must explain to your supporters what the extra money will be used for.

Additionally, before the Sport England pledge appears on your campaign page, you must:

Keep your project in draft mode until you have spoken with a Sport England staff member.

Once your crowdfunding campaign has closed successfully, meeting all the funding requirements, you’ll be ready to receive your funding.

The crowd pledges and Sport England funding will be transferred to you separately. Crowdfunder will transfer the crowd pledges into your bank account in accordance with your payout schedule.

Sport England will transfer the Movement Fund pledge into your bank account within 28 days of your project closing. When your campaign meets the requirements to receive the Sport England pledge, their team will be automatically notified. To expedite the payment process or address queries, you can directly contact your Sport England caseworker. Please note that the Sport England contribution will be paid directly by Sport England and not handled by Crowdfunder.

For any queries relating to Movement Fund payments, please email [email protected] and quote your Unique Reference Number (URN) provided by Sport England on your conditional award email.

If you have secured funding from more than one of Crowdfunder’s partners, you’ll likely need to create a match funding wallet to receive the funding from the other partner(s).
