Understanding Qualifying Pledges on Crowdfunder

How many unique supporters do I need to receive match funding?

Understanding Qualifying Pledges on Crowdfunder

Qualifying pledges determine whether your project receives match funding from one of Crowdfunder's partner programmes. Requirements vary by fund; some match every first pledge from a new supporter, others release a lump sum once you hit a minimum supporter count.

What is a unique supporter?

A unique supporter is someone who pledges using the same name, email address, and payment card. Only their first pledge on your project counts towards match funding, and this is classed as a qualifying pledge.
Pledges sharing the same card or bank details (including primary and additional cardholders on a shared card) count as just one qualifying pledge.

Note: Employee Giving vouchers (such as BA or Aviva vouchers) do not count towards your unique supporter requirement.
For full eligibility criteria, see our guidelines, specifically the following section:

How do I check my qualifying pledges?

Log in to your project dashboard and scroll to the Supporters section in the left-hand column. You'll see your total pledges, total supporters, and how many qualify towards match funding. Keep an eye on this figure and make sure it reaches the required threshold before your project closes.

Tips for reaching your supporter target

  • Share your campaign widely across social media, email, and community networks

  • Make clear that every pledge counts- even small amounts can unlock match funding

  • Check your dashboard regularly and act early if you need to bring in more supporters
