A project is an individual or collaborative enterprise that is planned to achieve a particular aim. This could be anything from building a community centre, to publishing a book, opening a cafe or recording an album.

The target is the amount of money that a project needs to reach in order to complete their project or the amount they would like to raise for their cause.

There are two funding options on Crowdfunder;

  1. All or nothing – You will only receive your pledges if you hit your target. This is best suited for projects that need to reach a set target to be able to carry out their aims. The average pledge size on 'All or nothing' projects is £50.
  2. Flexible funding – Keep all of your pledges, whether your project hits target or not. This is best suited for personal causes or charitable projects. The average pledge size on 'Keep what you raise' projects is £10.

A project creator is the person or team behind the project idea, working to make it happen.

Supporters are the people who pledge or donate money to join project creators in making projects happen.

Rewards are a creator's chance to give thanks and share a piece of their project with their supporters. Typically, these are unique items, services, experiences or sponsorship opportunities.
